Picard 252/29 Balanced Ding Hammer

The Picard 252/29 is a balanced ding hammer with two smooth round faces, 30 mm and 40 mm. It weighs 430 g (15 oz) with its 300 mm handle.

With a face of a different size at each end it is a general bumping and dinging hammer: the 40 mm face for broader areas and the 30 mm face for working into smaller dents and tighter curves.

The head is Picard alloyed special steel, hardened and tempered, and finished in Picard's blue hammertone enamel. It sits on a dual-curved hickory handle with an octagonal grip, fixed to the head with Picard's ring wedge. Picard has made hammers in Germany since 1857.
