Beverly Junior Throatless Shear — 18-gauge Mild Steel, Made in USA

The Beverly Junior is the entry point into the Beverly range — 18-gauge mild steel capacity, 24-gauge stainless, a 3" upper and 2-3/4" lower blade cutting roughly 2" per stroke. Like the rest of the family, the throatless design lets a panel turn freely under the blade in any direction and around any radius, so a cut isn't limited by a fixed throat depth.

Made by Mittler Bros. in Wright City, Missouri, the Junior carries the same workmanship and quality as the larger Beverly shears, built to a different spec: a billet-aluminum frame — tested for strength and wear — rather than the larger units' cast alloy-steel, paired with tool-steel blades that are tempered, drawn, adjustable for wear, and quickly interchangeable. Compound leverage keeps the cutting stroke powerful without much effort at the handle.

At 2.5 lbs and 17" tall, it's built to go where the bigger shears can't — small and light enough to carry in a toolbox, suited to intricate curved cutting and on-the-job work rather than a bench-mounted production role. It fills the gap between hand snips and full-size bench shears. For routine 14-gauge panel work, step up to the B1; for 10-gauge or heavier, the B2 or B3.

The full throatless-shear range is at Throatless Shears.
