Box and Pan Brakes (Finger Brakes) — Bend Boxes, Pans and Enclosed Shapes

Box and pan brakes — also called finger brakes — use removable fingers along the clamping beam. Pull the fingers wherever an existing flange needs clearance and you can fold all four sides of a box or pan, something a straight bending brake won't let you do.

The range runs from 24-inch benchtop finger brakes to 48-inch floor-stand machines from Baileigh, Eastwood, Woodward-Fab, Mittler Bros. and Shop Fox. If your work needs deeper boxes than fingers allow — or radius bends and hems — a magnetic sheet metal brake removes the depth limit entirely.
